On Tuesday I was excited to kick off December with a craft kit launch party from one of my favourite blogging duos – Rosie and Hannah from The New Craft House (previously The New Craft Society).

I stumbled across this pair a few years back when I was first venturing into the world of craft, and they were an instant source of inspiration. As young yet skilled seamstresses (check out their projects for Liberty), their aim is to promote old crafts for the new generation, and by golly they’re good!
Soon after launching their blog they won Cosmopolitan’s Best Craft Blog Award (an award category Cosmo don’t do any more, boo!), and can now be found running workshops for the likes of Converse and Cath Kidston. But now this talented twosome are onto even greater heights!
I was really excited to attend the launch party of their brand new making kits, which coincide with the launch of their shiny new online shop. I told you – it is literally all happening for them!
The event was held at their new HQ near King’s Cross, where I was greeted with a delicious gin cocktail (complete with DIY measures!). We were able to have a peruse of two of their brand new craft kits – a fun knicker making kit (£18), and a stylish English paper piecing cushion kit (£22).
The kits were a year in the making (which feels like a lifetime to the girls, but seems pretty speedy to me!), and they’re now available from the New Craft House online shop in time for Christmas! In the New Year you can expect even more kit launches, including mittens, make-up bags, and tapestry.
It was such a pleasure chatting to Rosie and Hannah, as well as their friends, family and mentors who turned up in support. I also met Natalie from Leeleetea, who has created the knitting pattern for the next upcoming mitten kit! We had a sneak peak at the finished product which looks gorgeous.
I also got to chat to a familiar face who I’ve seen from afar at a few crafting events now – the lovely Heather – one half of the blogging duo behind Live It. Love It. Make It – a great read!
At the end of the evening, I was sent off with a gorgeous pink tie-dye goody bag (which you might recognise from NCH’s Bestival workshops), and my very own knicker and cushion kit. I can’t wait to give the kits a go, but first, I need to get myself a sewing machine! Hello Father Christmas…
A great night! Are you hoping for any craft kits this Christmas?
Yay! So glad you enjoyed yourself and like the kits, so lovely to see you there xx
My pleasure! Good luck with all your craft markets this Christmas! x
Wow this event looks like it was so fun. I really like The New Craft House too – they have some amazing ideas x
