One of my New Year’s resolutions was to join more crafty Twitter chats, and since then, I’ve noticed a lot of other people looking to do the same. As a result, I wanted to share details of some of the weekly chats that I join, so you can add them to your crafty calendar – I have diary alerts to remind me!
1. #CraftBlogClub – Tuesdays, 7pm – 8.30pm
#CraftBlogClub is a weekly chat for craft lovers and bloggers alike, devoted to all things crafty and creative. The brainchild of founders @KatieGetsCrafty and @Fizzijayne, it’s an extremely friendly and supportive community for crafters of all skill sets. As well as weekly chats, they host regular crafty challenges, such as the annual #CraftBlogClub Secret Santa. I started joining the chat late last year, and I genuinely enjoy joining in every week – they’re a lovely bunch!
2. #CraftHour – Sundays, 7pm – 8pm
#CraftHour hold a weekly Twitter chat dedicated to connecting crafters with customers. Hosted every Sunday at 7pm GMT, they also host daily ‘events’ from 8am, dedicated to promoting crafty makers, including #TreasuryTuesday, and even a 15 minute #CraftFlash – be quick!
3. #HandmadeHour – Wednesdays at 7.30pm-9.30pm and Sundays at 8pm-9pm
#HandmadeHour has two weekly chats – on a Wednesday night, and on a Sunday. Run by Handmade Nation, an organisation that prides itself on supporting the creative community and ‘talented crafty folk around the world’, it aims to bring handmade, craft and customers together. As a result, it’s a great place to network and showcase your crafts.
4. #BlogHour – Tuesdays, 9pm – 10pm
#BlogHour is a weekly chat from the organisers of the UK Blog Awards. These annual awards recognise the best UK content makers on the web, spanning categories from ‘Arts & Culture’ to ‘Fashion & Retail’. The chat is very fast-paced, with participants sharing their blogging experiences and tips.
5. #cbloggers – Thursdays, 8.30pm – 9.30pm
#cbloggers (the ‘c’ stands for creative) is hosted by Lauren Hay of @OhHayStudio, and can be found at @. It is a group for creative bloggers to share their posts, inspirations, and events, and connect with each other. I joined my first chat last week, and loved it!
If I’ve missed any Twitter chats, do share details in the comments below. If you like, you can follow me on Twitter @Shelley_George. I look forward to chatting with you soon!
